The SWAN PORTAFORGE, brainchild of Cecil Swan, was created out of sound knowledge and practical experience. It is designed to run on propane gas and incorporates a number of safety features including a Flow Limiting Regulator, Flame Failure Sensor and Thermal Sensor.
Each model has press button ignition, a rapid heat up time, reaching working temperatures of up to 1350°C with variable heat input. Energy saving burners coupled with ceramic fibre insulation and minimal heat loss, make these units highly cost effective. To further increase fuel economy Cecil has also designed the Flame Trimmer, a low energy fan complete with air damper, which can be easily fitted to all models.
Although the original forge was designed exclusively for the needs of the modern day farrier, the range now includes models to suit a variety of applications in engineering, blacksmithing and metal work.
The SWAN PORTAFORGE range has cornered the portable gas forge market in the UK and aims to continue to lead the field in gas furnace technology in the 21st Century.
